Definition
A <HIGH SPEED ETHERNET> is a <FIELDBUS> that operates at 100/1000 Mbit/s and generally connects input/output subsystems, host systems, linking devices and gateways. It does not currently provide power over the cable, although work is under way to address this using the IEEE802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) standard
