Definition
A <LONGITUDINAL> is a <STRUCTURAL MEMBER> that is a longitudinal structural shape or plate member attached to the underside of deck, flats or to inner bottom, or on the inboard side of the shell plating, in association with widely spaced transverses, in the longitudinal framing system.
