A <POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS COMPOUND> (PAH) is a class of organic <COMPOUND> that is composed of multiple aromatic rings. The simplest representative is naphthalene, having two aromatic rings, and the three-ring compounds anthracene and phenanthrene
