SHEAR STRESS
Definition
A <SHEAR STRESS> is a <FORCE> causing two contacting parts or layers to slide upon each other, in opposite directions parallel to the plane of their contact. It is calculated as: tau = dF_t / dA where dF_i is the tangential component of <FORCE> and dA is the area
