A <SLOWING-DOWN AREA>, in an infinite homogeneous medium, is an <AREA(math)> of one-sixth of the mean square <DISTANCE> between the neutron source and the point where the neutron reaches a given energy . Defined in ISO 80000-10 (2009) 10-74.1
