Definition
A <THERMAL DIFFUSIVITY> is a <Property> that is a measure of the rate of transfer of heat of a material from the hot side to the cold side and is the thermal conductivity divided by density and specific heat capacity at constant pressure. It is calculated as: a = lambda/( rho.cp) where lambda is the<THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY>, rho is <MASS DENSITY> and cp the mass heat capacity at constant pressure
