WETTING AGENT

Definition A <WETTING AGENT> is a <FLUID COMPOUND> that is used to reduce the surface tension in a liquid. The test fluid of a hydro test shall include a wetting agent when specified. This should be concidered when one or more of the following conditions exist: (1) The liquid pumped has a specific gravity less than 0.7 at the pumping temperature. (2) The pumping temperature is higher than 260 degrees celsius. (3) The casing is cast from a new or altered pattern. (4) The materials are known to have poor castability
