A <FunctionalPhysicalObject> is a <PhysicalObject> that has functional, rather than material, continuity as its basis for identity. Adjacent temporal parts of a <FunctionalPhysicalObject> need not have common matter or energy, provided the matter or energy of each temporal part fulfils the same function
