QualityDatum Value Aspect Extension Ontology OWL

Definition Defines value aspects of lis:QualityDatum as OWL ontology Background: The Industrial Data Ontology (IDO) already establishes a clear distinction between properties (lis:Quality) and values (lis:QualityDatum). Building on this foundation, this ontology introduces aspects to further refine the semantics of values (lis:QualityDatum). Aspects enable a more granular and standardized representation of value-related information, allowing for precise classification and contextualization of characteristics that describe specific values (lis:QualityDatum), such as ranges, thresholds, or other value-specific attributes. This ontology aligns with IEC 61360-1, particularly its LEVEL_TYPE concept (MIN, NOM, TYP, MAX), which is now implemented more flexibly by representing each role as a separate class and supporting all four values to enable precise semantic composition of value aspects. This ontology is inspired by and extends the plm ontology from POSC Caesar Association (PCA).
