Example:
A combustion activity consumes fuel, a welding activity consumes a filler rod, a chemical reaction consumes a reagent, a manufacturing activity consumes raw material.
Iof usage note:
'consumes' is the dual of 'creates': where 'creates' marks an activity as the cause of an object's beginning, 'consumes' marks an activity as the cause of an object's ending. Consumption here may mean transformation, utilisation, or exhaustion of the consumed object.
Together with 'creates', 'consumes' enables continuity of material or energy to be represented across system or activity boundaries: if an upstream activity creates an object and a downstream activity consumes it, the shared object expresses the flow between the two activities.
Use this relation to express that an activity takes an object out of being.
